Poughkeepsie… Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro has announced $500,000 in funding has been awarded through Dutchess County’s Partnership for Manageable Growth (PMG) Water and Wastewater Facility Planning and Development Program to support infrastructure upgrades to the Village of Pawling and the Pawling Joint Sewer Commission’s existing Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This portion of the PMG program seeks to assist in providing the infrastructure necessary to support and expand municipal centers. Read more...

- 10/31/2019 - TICK TASK FORCE TO HOST 2020 “BE TICK FREE!” MEDIA CONTEST
The Dutchess County Legislature’s Tick Task Force, together with the Department of Behavioral and Community Health, announced today that it will host the 2020 “Be Tick Free!” Media Contest that will be open to middle and high school students from now through March 11. The goal of the contest is for students to learn how to prevent Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, and then use their digital media skills to teach others what they have learned. Students are asked to create a 30- or 60-second live action or computer animated public service announcement on how to prevent tick-borne disease. Entries may be submitted by individuals or groups. - 7/12/2019 - TICK TASK FORCE TO HOST “EDUCATIONAL EVENT” AT DUTCHESS STADIUM
The Dutchess County Legislature’s Tick Task Force, together with the Department of Behavioral and Community Health, announced today that it will host an “Educational Event” during the Thursday, July 25th Renegades Game. Members of the Committee will man a table in the concession area of the Baseball Stadium with educational pamphlets along with “Tick Removal Kits”. Game time starts at 7:05 pm. Read more...

- 10/29/2019 - Inmate Admits Assaulting Correction Officer
According to District Attorney William Grady: "Vernon Mingo, a 39 year old inmate at the Green Haven Correctional Facility, entered a plea of guilty on October 3rd to a Class E Felony, admitting that he assaulted Correction Officer Jenniter Hayden at the Green Haven Correctional Facility on April 24, 2018. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, October 31st before County Court Judge Peter Forman and is expected to receive a sentence of 2 to 4 years in state prison to run consecutive with his current sentence."
