North Cross Rd Bridge in Hyde Park to be Replaced
Motorists will be detoured during construction

Poughkeepsie… The Dutchess County Department of Public Works will begin replacement of the county bridge on North Cross Road (CR 37) in the Town of Hyde Park, which spans over the Crum Elbow Creek.    Work is expected to begin on or about August 22, 2011 and motorists will be detoured away from the construction area.

The existing bridge beams, built in 1969, were found to be deficient and require replacement.     Work will include the removal of the existing beams and bridge deck.  New galvanized beams and steel decking will be put in place.  Work will also include new section of resurfaced roadway, bridge approach work, and new guiderail.

Starting Monday, August 22nd, a detour will be in place for motorists.    The detour will follow Route 9G, to Primrose Hill Road (CR 84), to Route 9, to East Market Street (CR 41) and then back to Route 9G.

Work is expected to be completed by the end of October.
