Traffic Crash Data/ALIS

Transportation Council
Eoin Wrafter, Commissioner

Mark Debald, Transportation Program Administrator

The Accident Location Information System, or ALIS, is a statewide database of vehicle crashes. The data in ALIS comes from two sources: Traffic and Criminal Software, or TraCS, which many police agencies have installed in their patrol cars, and DMV accident report forms (Form MV-104). ALIS allows users to search for crash data based on location, date, or other characteristics and summarize the data in a variety of report formats. ALIS was developed by the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC). Currently, access to ALIS is restricted to State agencies, MPO's (such as the DCTC), and County agencies. The DCTC is able to provide local crash data on a case-by-case basis. To request crash data, please contact us by phone at (845) 486-3600 or use our Automated Response System:
