  • Solar Energy Community Workshop – Tuesday December 6th, 6:00pm
    Solarize Wappingers, in collaboration with Ketcham High School, is hosting a solar energy Community Workshop. This free event will be held at Ketcham High School, and includes an introduction by three youth groups followed by a presentation from Solarize Hudson Valley geared toward homeowners who may be interested in solar.   • Land Use Training Series Focuses on Economic Development
    We are partnering with Pace Land Use Law Center to offer two training sessions in the coming weeks that will focus on economic development. The first session, The Land Use System: Setting the Stage will be held on November 29th, and the second session, Integrating Economic Development into Your Land Use Plans and Regulations, will be held on December 14th.   • Partnership for Manageable Growth (PMG)
    We are pleased to announce that we will be accepting applications for the PMG programs. All application forms, instructions, and other pertinent information can be found on the PMG webpage. Applications must be submitted by 4:00pm December 5, 2016.
     
  • 2015 Rental Housing Survey
    Our annual report on the rental housing market in Dutchess County is now available. View data on market-rate rentals as well as tax-credit and subsidized units. The main trends for 2015 were increased rents for all market-rate units surveyed, and very low vacancy rates. View the entire 2015 Rental Housing Survey report here

The Department of Planning and Development helps to maintain and enhance the County's quality of life. The Department is responsible for countywide planning, coordination of economic development activities, planning assistance to local governments, and comprehensive mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) data.Planning and Development Mission Statement image

The Department also provides administrative oversight and support to the Traffic Safety and STOP-DWI programs, the Department of Solid Waste, the Criminal Justice Council and several community agencies, which provide a wide range of programs for the County's residents, businesses, and visitors.
