Poughkeepsie - Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus has announced $455,300 in awards under the County's 2000 HOME Investment Partnership program to the City of Poughkeepsie. The purpose of the HOME program is to provide development subsidies to assist with the development of affordable housing projects throughout Dutchess County.

'Me County Executive noted, "Projects were selected through an application process after extensive community outreach regarding the availability of funds. All units created under this program must be occupied by low and moderate income households."

"Hudson River Housing was awarded $194,900 for the rehabilitation of Harlow Row, four attached brownstones on Little Market Street in the City of Poughkeepsie, into eight rental units and four commercial spaces."

Steinhaus added, "Also continued is my commitment to the revitalization of the City of Poughkeepsie through the setting aside of $260,400 for the City's property revitalization program and first time home buyer programs. These programs are administered directly by the City of Poughkeepsie."

"These are the important public policy priorities we have set in our Year 2000 agenda because we know they have a direct positive impact on peoples' lives," said Steinhaus.
