Dutchess County Executive William R. Steinhaus announced today a state report finding the Dutchess County Division of Aging Services in 100% compliance with all program service and delivery regulations by the New York State Division of Aging Services. The office was specifically cited for its “collaborative activities with local agencies” and for its “well organized and crafted Project 2015 implementation plan.” Project 2015 is a Governors’ led program committed to getting the word out about a changing demographic profile in New York State.

County Executive Steinhaus said, “This state review confirms the Division of Aging Services, under the leadership of Director John Beale, is succeeding in its mission to provide comprehensive community based services to the aging population, in an effort to promote independence, dignity, and a better quality of life. It is due to the hard work and vision of his staff to make our communities friendly for seniors that the County continues to achieve high state ratings.”

Areas covered as part of the review included Transportation, Nutrition, Case Files, Information and Case Assistance, Social Adult Day Care Services, Advocacy, Coordination of Service Delivery, Reporting, and Monitoring of Subcontracted and Directly Provided Services.

The purpose of the annual evaluation is to review the operations of the Division of Aging Services in order to measure its compliance with state and federal regulations, review its documentation supporting compliance, assess its achievement in service delivery and pinpoint areas in need of attention.
