The Division of Central Services is a compilation of twelve different functional units with the task of serving the operational needs of all other County Departments; assisting them in providing their services to the public more efficiently and at a reduced cost. To this end we provide Centralized Procurement, Contract Administration, Centralized Contract Database, Procurement Card Program Administration, Centralized Interdepartmental Billing, Records Management and Storage Services, Automotive Fleet Maintenance and Administration, Telecommunication Services, Centralized Storeroom, Fixed Asset Program Administration, Centralized Printing and Duplication Services and a Centralized Internal and US Mail Distribution Program.

Central Services accomplishes a dual role: service to the departments within the County and service to public. This dual role requires the acceptance of many responsibilities; a strong commitment to objectives; a willingness to be held accountable for all actions undertaken; and maintenance of a competent staff with up to date skill sets in all areas assigned. Our Procurement Staff are strongly encouraged to seek and obtain national certification to validate their knowledge, professionalism and ethics to our customers.

The Central Services Administration Unit develops and manages a wide variety of centralized programs for internal Departments as well as providing leadership and assistance for all other Municipalities, Special Districts, Not For Profits and all other Agencies in Dutchess County eligible to participate in County programs. The Procurement Unit strives to provide outside agencies with a multitude of cooperative programs and opportunities to increase levels of efficiency through regional, state and national alliances.
