Home is where the heat is: Wrap up your energy weatherization troubles with the WRAP Program. Dutchess County Division of Aging Services's telephone number is 486-2555. The toll free number is (866) 486-2555.
What is WRAP?
WRAP is the Weatherization Referral and Packaging Program (WRAP) designed to help senior citizens with energy related problems or needs. If you are experiencing a cold, drafty house during the winter, or if your heating bills are skyrocketing out of sight, contact the Dutchess County Division of Aging Services to see if you can get help with your energy troubles. A WRAP representative will talk to you and will help you pull together energy services in the community that can help you.
What is a WRAP Representative?
A WRAP representative is a trained specialist who will assess your needs, then develop a plan that you agree will meet your needs. The energy packager will then help link you to weatherization, energy, and other human services and programs in the community. Under the WRAP program, the representative will be there to help you apply for the benefits or programs and work to help you obtain the services.
Who is Eligible for the WRAP Program?
Anyone who is 60 or older and a full time Dutchess County resident. Your household must also be eligible for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). If you own your own home or trailer or even if you live in an apartment building (up to four units) you may be eligible for help.
