Agricultural District Recertification
   -  Planning
The Planning and Development Department fulfills responsibilities assigned to it by NYS Agricultural Districts Law.  It produces reports summarizing the current status of farm industry and farmland in the County’s four Agricultural Districts based on data produced by the Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board.

Agricultural Districts
   -  Planning
Planning and Development handles general inquiries concerning current status of parcels.  These requests come from municipalities, NYS Agriculture and Markets, developers, consultants, engineers, etc.  Requests for municipal lists and Agricultural District maps are referred to the Real Property Tax Service Agency.

Census Information
   -  Planning
Current census data can be found on the Planning and Development Department's webpages.  Updated statistical information based on the U.S. Census is provided to municipalities, developers, private citizens, and the press upon request.

Community Development Block Grant Program
   -  Planning
The Community Development Block Grant program provides funding to municipalities to assist with housing, infrastructure, parks and recreation, handicapped accessibility, historic preservation, and economic development. The Common Grant Application and guidelines can be found on the webpages of the Department of Planning and Development.

Dutchess County Planning Federation Newsletter
   -  Planning
The Department of Planning and Development publishes it's newsletter, Plan On It, approximately 4 times a year.  These newsletters highlight important planning initiatives and upcoming events.  They are provided online as .pdf documents.

General Municipal Law (GML) 239 Review
   -  Planning
The Planning and Development Department reviews site plans, special permits, zoning amendments, master plan revisions, zoning ordinance revisions per General Municipal Law (GML), and  provides technical assistance and guidance as requested.

HOME Investment Partnership Program
   -  Planning

Lead Planner Activities
   -  Planning
 Each planner is assigned several communities for which they will provide information as needed.  The information is typically derived from the County's resource database and is used in the development of master plans, zoning revisions, and planning approvals.

Major Projects Report
   -  Planning
Planning and Development updates the County’s Major Projects Report twice annually.  Information on proposed projects is gathered from a variety of sources including zoning action referrals, State Environmental Quality Review Act submittals, newspaper reports, and copies of the minutes of local municipal board meetings.

Open Space and Farmland Protection Matching Grant Fund
   -  Planning
Upon request the Department of Planning and Development provides applications for funds and summaries of project status.  The Dutchess County Planning Board accepts applications and recommends projects for funding.

   -  Real Property Tax

ParcelAccess is Dutchess County's online tax parcel information retrieval and mapping system.  Detailed data on parcels in Dutchess County are available for viewing.  Specific parcel information such as lot size and use, assessment figures and site improvements are also available.  Click the EGOV icon to the right to access this service.

   -  Planning

Zoning Referral Process
   -  Planning
Planning and Development reviews more than 50 development applications per month under General Municipal Law, Sections 239-1 and 239-m. This report explains why the County must receive certain applications and what types of reviews and recommendations can be expected from the County in response.  Click on the EGov icon to the right to access the Zoning Referral Submittal form.  Municipalities can complete this form to attach to zoning referral requests when submitting them to the Dutchess County Planning Department.
