County Executive, Marcus J. Molinaro, continues to focus on shared services and consolidation initiatives. His 2014 State of the County Address further expresses this earnest effort.

Under the direction of the County Executive, the Office of Central and Information Services (OCIS) continues to identify and expand shared services with municipalities, special districts, and other counties. These shared services provide an opportunity for local governments and qualifying agencies to work together to deliver public services to our residents more efficiently- while at the same time having a positive fiscal impact. The concept of shared services is a simple one: cost savings achieved through collaboration and economies of scale.

Shared services not only benefit all participating agencies through cost savings, they also:
  • Maximize fiscal and operational efficiencies
  • Improve agency resources
  • Increase accountability
  • Ultimately benefit the taxpayer
